Diabetes Buddies Wins the Red Sox IMPACT Award

By: Karen Sisselman, Co-founder

Diabetes Buddies Has Won First Place for the Red Sox Foundation’s IMPACT Award in Massachusetts!

Dear Friends and the T1D Community,

First, I want to say thank you.

Over the last four weeks, you have voted for Diabetes Buddies to win the Red Sox Foundation’s IMPACT Awards, and you encouraged your friends and family to do the same. It’s been incredibly humbling to see the response we’ve gotten, and I could not be more grateful.

Now, I’m thrilled to share that Diabetes Buddies has won first place for the Red Sox Foundation’s IMPACT Awards in Massachusetts!!!

Diabetes Buddies is just over a year old, and we were competing against well-established organizations with large existing networks. But, we had all of you, and that was more than enough! Every single vote mattered. Every share, every forward, every text mattered.

With the $15,000, Diabetes Buddies will be able to continue building the infrastructure needed to reach more children with T1D and to recruit more adults who share their lived experience. But, the last four weeks mean more to Diabetes Buddies than just these funds. The awareness you helped us generate will help us ensure that no child faces the challenges of T1D alone.

Our work is just beginning, so be sure to follow Diabetes Buddies on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Thank you again for believing in our mission, and for proving — daily, for four straight weeks — that you believe in it enough to act on it.

Karen
